Scott Collier - Lead & Slide Guitars - Vocals My love for Lynyrd Skynyrd's music goes back to my days as a Coastie (Coast Guard) when Skynyrd was big and I was doing a two year tour aboard a 378 foot Cutter "Jarvis" stationed in Hawaii. We used to go on 3 month "cruises" of the lovely Aleutian Islands of Alaska on fisheries patrols. In my spare time, which wasn't often, I'd hide out back in the aft compartment where the propellor shafts go through the hull and get out my Les Paul and my little 8 watt Gibson amp and practice to Lynyrd Skynyrd's "One more from the Road" double cassette tape. It was right around that time that Skynyrd's plane went down killing Ronnie, Steve Gaines, and several others. I was pretty bummed, but kept practicing their songs and continued playing and perfecting them through my college days at Central Washington University.
After college I founded several bands including: "The Boinkers" and "Collier Underground". I also played bass in the blues band Snakeoil Daddy, (now known as the award winning Michal/Miller Band). and guitar in Crazy Jayne. I was able to play a couple Skynyrd tunes in a few of those bands but it was never enough! Now, I'm finally getting the chance to play ALL the music that has become part of me. I am grateful to be a part of Whiskey Creek. It's been great working with Johnny, Bill, Randy, Joe, Terry and Keenan to get the most "authentic Skynyrd sound" this side of Jacksonville.
